Friends older brother

I have a crush with one of my friend's older brother! I'm 14 and so is my friend, her brother is 16. Should I hang out with my friend more to get closer with her brother? I don't want it to come off as me using her though. I think he's interested in a different girl too. I just want your guys' thoughts and opinions.
