Why is it that women get treated like their less

I always hear men treating women poorly and talking like we are only here to pleasure them. I have heard men treat women as if their objects and like they don't have any feelings at all. I see men that are very controling. These women go to work, take care of the kids and family, but they still get treated like they are less. The men and the kids always seem to come first. I have never understood why this happens. We live in a horrible world
