Can I still labor most at home? Or when I go into labor should I go straight to hospital to start antibiotics?

Answer

When you go in is up to you. Your doctor may have a suggestion but you get to decide what you're comfortable with doing.

"When penicillin or ampicillin was given more than 4 hours before birth, it was effective 89% of the time. In contrast, giving antibiotics 2-4 hours before birth was effective 38% of the time. Antibiotics given less than 2 hours before birth were effective 47% of the time."

Answer

I would talk to your doctor but I think they'll want you to go in. I was on antibiotics that they refreshed every 4 hours for my entire 22 hour labor.
