Is it controlling?

For 5 years ive had lomg acrylic nails. My boyfriend now hates them and refuses to let me have them long. He doesnt even like acrylic nails short he says its fake and he wants me to be natural. Ive had them off for a few months and it honestly doesnt bother me but would you consider that to be controlling? In the same way i wont let him hangout with some of his friends that are girls because i know what they want and hes already taken.
