when can I stop worrying about sids

I NEED ADVICE

So none of my family smoke, but my fiancés family does. His sister. His mother and his father. And they all smoke in their house, every time I leave there my hair and clothes smell of cigarettes.

I'm worried about taking my newborn up there.
I don't want them to hold her as their clothes and hands will smell and their house smells of cigarettes the second you go there.

And even if they visit my house they will still smell of it.

What should I do?

My family live 15 minutes away and his  live up the road literally 5 minutes so that's another thing I don't want , is them there 24/7

I don't want to be selfish. But I do not want smokearound my baby as it can cause SIDS. And I hate it!

This is a lesson in boundaries. It starts here. I agree with all others. There is no way to not offend them and that's not your responsibility. Your responsibility is to protect your baby, stand up for that baby and have confidence that you're doing the right thing no matter what they say.

Just note the Bullet and tell them. Can even say doctor advises against it. My husbands family smokes and we told them no smoking if they come to see us, they respect what we say and don't. On the rate case when they have we don't allow them to hold the baby and are very honest about not wanting baby to smell the smoke
