Do you support the US expanding its boarders?

I was reading an article about Puerto Rico becoming the 51st state and I was reading the comments underneath. Some were for it. Some were against it. One comment that kinda got on my nerves was a comment saying that we should be constantly expanding our boarders. I don't agree with this. If another country wants to be apart of the US, more power to them and I'm sure we can figure something out, but I don't think we need to be out there taking over the world. That's crazy.

I agree that PR should be a state at this point, of course, only if they agree to it in their upcoming referendum. I'm not sure I agree with adding any and every new state, but I strongly feel that PR has more than "paid their dues".

I support PR becoming a state if they voted to do so.

But otherwise I don't support American Imperialism and "expanding our borders".

I think if a territory votes to become a state they should be able to become a state, but I think the US is already too big and is run in a way that makes it dysfunctional. The founding fathers envisioned something more like the EU.

What  is the reasoning  PR wants to be the 51st state? 
Is it due to the financial crisis? And want a bailout  by the US? 
Or is the US taking  advantage of that situation ?

There is no reason to expand our nation. We have enough issues inside the current border we don't need to add the economically failing terroritories to the list. If we are going to expand we need to fix the crumbing infrastructure of our own country, fix the government assistance and bail out rates, and solve the illegal immigration issues first. Then we can have a safe reliable country with a stable economic system in place to bail out the failing countries when they are basically adopted by the United States.
