Do you think baby clothes sizes are small?

My baby has been wearing 1-2 and sometimes even 3 sizes bigger than her age. And I've noticed a lot of moms say the same thing, and I know it's not our babies but maybe the stores?

I've put newborn, size 3, size 3-6 months, and a size 6-9 months onesies from different brands together and they were ALL roughly the same size. It's crazy to me, but that's how it is. 
My own baby is 2 months old and 10 lbs. I've noticed Gerber clothes are long and skinny, so they fit my girl great (though that is the size 6-9 month onesie), but she can't wear Granimals at all because they're short and wide, so newborn is too short and 3 months is too wide for her. Carter's size 3 is the best fit I've found for her out of all of her clothes, though. 
Babies grow differently. Some are short and chunky, some long and skinny, and some are in between, so they all grow into different sizes and brands at different times.

My son was a size ahead until about 6 months, and since then the sizing has been consistently pretty accurate. He's average height, but 25th percentile for weight.

For the most part the sizing is right for my little one. For pants I usually size down for her because she's thin but average height. So, she's 14 months and wears 12 - 18 month shirts and 9-12 month pants. I have noticed different brands all size differently.

My son has always been like that! He was 5 lbs 12 oz at birth and could fit premie clothes but wore newborns mostly. Whenever he was 1 1/2 months old, he was already wearing 3 months. Now, he's just about 9 months old and wears 18 months or sometimes a 2T. My niece on the other hand, she's always been tiny. She wore 3-6 months until she was almost 8 months old. She's now 4 and wears a 3T. Me and my sister both use Carters and Oshkosh.

Yes both my kids are always a size ahead, which I think is very common.
