IUI question?

I have my 4th IUI tomorrow morning, the last one I had hurt pretty bad and I cramped for several days after.. I'm wondering if there's anything I can take an hour before to help relax my vaginal walls/utuerus? Tylenol maybe? I heard ibuprofen hurts your chances of conception? Any advice??

If the catheter hurts when it's going through  your uterus, others have said to keep a full bladder during your IUI. The nurse told me I could take only Tylenol after my last IUI if I experience cramping.

So a mid to full bladder helps straighten out the cervical canal naturally helping the catheter to go in more smoothly. You can also work to keep your legs and muscles relaxed by spreading eagle - sounds funny but my dr made me do it last time and omg night and day difference. I also work on slow deep breathing before and during appointment. I also take a Valium because it's a smooth muscle relaxer and my doctor suggested it after I had severe pain on second IUI which probably just meant wrong timing or bad insemination. Oh and she empties it slowly and there's a point where it can only go in so deep so she noted the depth where it hurt. Hope that helps!!
