Question

to make a long story short ... 
my husband is military... so we have been apart off and on for quite awhile due to training and so on but finally we are getting a station soon and we can finally have our little family in 1 house 🤗

the thing is... his parents are thinking about moving to wherever we get stationed. I love my  in laws dearly but we are newlyweds (rushed shotgun wedding) i actually had to cancel the official wedding because he wasn't going to be home 😢😒... anyway

am i wrong for being a little selfish and wanting some time/space from everyone ??

There  will  be space unless they  moved in with you, also whats the point if this isnt where  youll reside permanently??

My husband and I are both military and expecting our first baby. Our family is 500/700 miles away. I would LOVE if someone, anyone was closer, especially now.  Being in a military is lonely, new place, no friends. Having them near by might be better than you think.

Most people would probably be very happy to have family nearby. I've lived both far away and close to family, and it's always easier close to family.

That being said, it seems a little unreasonable they move. What if he gets orders after 18 months and then what? They move again? Seems kinda crazy and expensive to start over like that for them.

I can already tell you'll get hate for this but I 100000% agree with you. I WOULD HATE THIS. In my defense I don't like my mother in law and she's constantly at my throats about things but my husband is currently in the process of transitions from reserves to active duty and we'll be getting stationed somewhere after he finishes AT and I'm honestly SO happy to be getting away from my home town and everyone in it for awhile. I wanna do things on my own, I wanna go out and be my own family without having my in laws or even my parents there. I wanna grow up. And if my in laws insisted on following me and my family, I would hate it. I don't think it's selfish at all, I can see exactly where you're coming from girl!

As an ex army wife whose husband deployed three times and was injured in Iraq, I do think you're wrong. If his parents can afford to move wherever you go I don't see what the problem is. In any relationship you're going to have friends and family living near by. That's how life works. You don't get to move to an island where it's just the two of you. If he is going to be deploying I completely understand why his parents would want to be around. I have a son, if he was going to deploy for months on end I would want to live near him when I could too. Ideally you'll be married forever, his parents won't be around forever. If they aren't going to be living with you there's no reason why they can't be in the same town. You're being selfish.

I would tell them. That seems crazy and clingy to me. Especially since you can and probably will move again.
