Wack Period This Month

So my boyfriend and I have been trying to have a baby. We literally had sex every day from the middle of May to June 9 and he ofcourse came inside me everytime. My period was supposed to hit june 13 but instead I got real light bleeding and cramps. It was more spotting for two days and the it picked up to light bleeding for another two days and then I just had that brown red discharge you get before or after a period. It wasn't normal bleeding, my flows are usually a more medium to heavy flow. But this months was weird. I took a pregnancy test three days before my period was supposed to hit and it came out negative. I just don't want to take a test and be disappointed again you know. But I would greatly appreciate any advice and opinions if I should take another test.
