how much clothes should I get?

How much clothes should I get for each size?! I don't know where to start. Also if anyone has any recommendations for not so pink frilly clothes for girls that aren't too expensive let me know.

If you are having a baby shower, I would wait to see what you get from that. People love to buy clothes. Then you can take inventory and see which sizes you still need to buy for.

Depending on how big they think your baby will be, I would limit the newborn items. My baby was 9 pounds and is pretty much done with her newborn stuff. Luckily I didn't have much since they kept telling me how big she was going to be.

I usually had about 7 pajamas, 7 pants, some shorts and 14 onesies. I know it sounds like a lot but when babies are little their poop is liquidy and often comes out the diaper. Even with this, I still did 2 loads of his laundry a week.

Some people love having their kids in the one piece "sleep and play" things, I hated them because the zipper ones you have to shove one leg in the side that doesn't have the zipper and the snaps ones are a pain in the ass.

I like carter's a lot. You can get some relatively cheap and non-frilly clothes from there. I wouldn't buy a whole bunch because babies grow so fast it's unreal, but you do want to buy enough to where you won't have to wash clothes every day. I'd get maybe 1 or 2 of the 5-pack onesies they have( one short sleeve and one long), a couple pairs of pants and maybe 4 or 5 sleepers. Depends on what season you're buying for.

They grow so quickly but it's kinda up to you on how much laundry you want to do and how many times you want them in the same outfit. I'm a first time mom so I went overboard lol. I couldn't resist buying clothes for her and I take a million pix of her and didnt really want her in the same clothes for all her pix.

Generally, my daughter had to move up a size in clothes about every 7 weeks (which goes by so quickly).  She's 5 months currently. When it was time to put away small stuff and go up a size, it felt like I literally just brought the new clothes out.

My favorite place to buy her clothes is Carters (they have good sales) and H&M's website.

I ended up with a lot of lightly used clothes from family and friends. JC Penny has cute girl clothes that aren't all pink and frilly!
