transvaginal ultra sound scan

I've been trying to conceive for around 4 years now with no luck had blood test come back last week that was fine also this morning I had a transvaginal ultra scan too , my period is due today but occasionally irregular . I did ask the nurse if she could see any sac in my womb area she said she couldn't see anything . Is it possible to early to detect on a scan ? X thanks
