why does my body hate me?!

So I started having breast pain 2 weeks before my expected period. My period was late but I had it. It's a week later and my breasts are still sore. They throb on and off during the day. My nipples turn purple on and off. And they are warm. So far no lumps and no redness. Negative pregnancy test. What are your thoughts?
