Do you believe in long distance relationships?

My boyfriend and I have been in a long distance relationship for almost 2 years. We see each other every other week.. we are happy. Many of my friends and family are happy for us and are amazed on how we can have a long distance relationship, and be happy this long. A lot of them compare my situation to other long distance relationships, and my friends always ask for advice. I want to know what you guys think and how you feel about them. Please comment!

My husband and I met in an MMO. I was in OH, he was in GA. It's lots of work, and takes an insane amount of communication, but I feel like our relationship is stronger because of it.

I met my husband while working in the uk and he was back home in Greece. We got married in 6 months time and we are still in ldr as I am Saving a bit before I go back permanently. My point is that if you both know what you are doing and decide to overcome the difficulties together then it can work big time x

I don't have an ldc boyfriend but me and my best friend are ldr. We live provinces apart but we've made it work for almost ten years. In a way I actually think it's made us closer because we never take being with each other for granted. So we rely more on talking and when we see each other once a year we like don't sleep so we have every second together. She's my everything.

I think it depends on who you are in a relationship and how committed the both of you are. Personally I'm better off in long distance cause I like a lot of space, I see my boyfriend every couple of weeks sometimes up to a month (but soon he'll be deployed for 9 months 🙈🙈🙈) and we work really hard to make the distance work. Whether it's video calling til we fall asleep, snapchatting every day, or playing dumb games like words with friends with each other, we find ways to be close. It helps a lot that he's a hopeless romantic

I think that if two people are really committed to the idea, then I can absolutely work out. However, for me, personally, I could not do it. I tried with someone who lives 3 1/2 hours away for me and it just did not work out. I need my person to be close to me.
