Birth Control Second pack?

I started birth control last month on the first day of my period and took all the active pills and 3 inactive ones. I got confused today when my period started and I just took the first pill of my second pack. Am I supposed to always start the next pack on the first day of my period or not? I looked in the instructions and cannot find anything on it and looked online and no one has this problem. Am I wrong? Was I supposed to take the entire pack with even all 28 of the active and inactive pills? Will this make the pills not work? I am sexually active.

Yes you should always finish the pack unless you deliberately skip that placebo week for future reference. I don't think anything too serious will happen, but def keep an eye on what's going on down there for the next week or so. Some people skip it without problems, others end up bleeding for months.

You're fine but you really should take all 28 pills to keep your cycle the same length. Also don't just take a different pill because you start your period--take them in order, all the active ones followed by the inactive, period or not

Idk what kind of pack you're on but for me i had 7 inactive pills and I would usually get my period on the third day of the inactive pills. If I tried to skip my period my period would start a couple days into my next pack (on active pills) and last a month. A lot of my friends had this problem too. We're all sexually active and not pregnant. Sorry that was super long and probs confusing 😂. Basically. You should be fine.
