is Plan B necessary?

Okay so I'm thinking of getting the shot as my birth control route but if I get the shot is plan b still necessary. I know I'm suppose to wait a couple of weeks just to make sure I don't get pregnant but after the weeks is plan b necessary

It's not necessary. That's the whole point of the shot. That's the whole point in birth control. 
That's why it's called plan b. 
Because you didn't have a plan A or plan A (like a condom) failed 
If you took plan b on the shot, you'd fuck up your hormones massively
