Experience with Carrying Low and in Back?

Has anyone else experienced carrying extremely low and toward the back? Has it caused more pain and more complication? I was told by family with my last baby I carried low, so I didn't doubt it would be different this time. At my monthly appt (25 weeks), my OB told me the fundal height is small, which could just be due to me carrying low and in back. I will be getting another ultrasound soon to check, but so far the baby has been perfectly healthy and right on track.
