Does anyone know how long after sex you can take plan B and have it be effective?

I took plan b and it failed. Plan b has weight requirements if you wanted to know also. But up to 72 but to be on the safe side take it right after sex

Up to 72 hours after unprotected sex for it to be effective. Preferably within the first 12 hours after unprotected sex. Although there is another plan b that can be taken up to 5 days after unprotected sex but u must discuss this with ur doctor. Alternatively there is a copper IUD coil that can be inserted 5 days after unprotected sex and can be left in for several years as a regular contraceptive.
