Opinions on c section vs vaginal birth...

FTM mom and 36 weeks along. I have a low lying placenta. My doctor said it's close to my cervix but not covering. He's on track to deliver my baby vaginally and said the placenta shouldn't be a problem but also said that if there's more bleeding during delivery than he would like to see then we would do a c section. Is it worth the risk of bleeding too much and having an emergency c section or should I just go ahead and schedule a c section? I'm going to talk to him more about it at my next appointment but curious what your opinions are. Thanks!
