mucus plug?

so i told my doctor Ive been loosing chunks of my mucus plug and he just said "doesnt mean jack" and ended our appointment. no questions if its bloody, how much, how often, nothing. im only 32 weeks so i figured he would at least ask me some questions about it or check to make sure im not dilating. is this normal? i know mucus plug can regrow when its lost but ive been loosing a lot of it throughout the past 2 weeks so im concerned & he wasnt very comforting at all.
