Artificial insemination

Me and my girlfriend are using at home AI to try and conceive. We're in cycle two (first didn't work) and wondered what other people's experiences were of AI and what they found helped? We currently use a syringe and sometimes a catheter tube (although I'm not a fan of it) and prop my hips up on pillows for 30-40 minutes at a time. Generally insert the Sperm within 15minutes or less depending on where he donor is when he provides his sample
