Visiting a 9 Month Old After Living in Africa for a Year?

Ashleigh

My sister in law has been living in Jinja, Uganda for the past 6 months doing mission work. She is due to come home in January. She was already living there when my baby girl was born in March so she has never met her, other than video chatting. She asked me if when she does come home, would i bring the baby to the airport when we go to pick her up. This worries me. I have no idea what she could be carrying back with her. I already know that i will be telling her that I am sorry, but unfortunately I'm not comfortable bringing her to the airport. Now heres my real question.

How long should i keep my baby away from her? I have no idea how long germs and diseases can linger. I dont want to keep the baby from her but as a mother i absolutely will if that is necessary.

Thanks for your help in advance 💜
