Fertility issues?

Hi ladies!
My husband and I have been TTC since August of 2016 with no luck. I've been tracking my periods since before we started TTC (AF visits every month with little change), I've used OPKs. I turned 30 in April, and I'm beginning to feel nervous that we may have fertility issues. 
My question is silly - but how do you begin the process of checking for infertility? Should I just make an appointment with my gynecologist? I'm not due for an annual exam until January and I don't think I can wait that long!
(I realize that I'm probably overreacting...people always say when you stop trying it will happen, but that hasn't been the case for us. And I'd rather find any issues sooner rather than later since both my husband and I are in our 30s.)

When my husband and I decided to start trying, I made an appointment with my OB/GYN for a pre-conception check up and because we are both older (35 & 36).  Because of this apt., we were able to detect my luteal defect early on and address it (within 3 months).  My doctors office has the ability to help women out the same way a fertility clinic may start out treatment, but without the big dollar signs (and insurance coverage).  Also call your insurance company to check coverage!  In some states, after a certain age, fertility drugs and treatments maybe be somewhat covered.  Good luck!

Make an appointment with your OB. If it's been a year they will talk to you about that stuff. Depending on your insurance your OB could work with you or refer you to a fertility clinic.

I went straight to the Reproductive endocrinologist at about 1 year of trying. But after consult decided to hold off on going further bc of cost. The sperm sample handout said no hot baths for 90 days so we decided to at least wait 90 days. Wouldn't you know I got pregnant right at that point? It was a chemical. But got pregnant again the next month and that one stuck. Going back to your question, I would consult your insurance co to see if u need a referral. Many cover the cost of infertility diagnostic testing.
