What age will you let your children start dating?

16. I know I was convinced I was ready at the age of fifteen and I thought it was really really stupid that my Mom had all these rules for me... I was like, "This is sooooooooooo unfair!!!!" But, she was right and there was a lot of things she was right about and I had to learn the hard way unfortunately... but, she never caved and she stood her ground and I'm proud that she did! But, to tell ya the truth, as it turns out... I don't even think I was ready to date when I was 16. Atleast, I shouldn't have been dating the guy I was dating at 16!! So many bad things happened in that relationship and at times, I still kick myself. So, I honestly don't think 16 is always the magic number either. But, my rules will be the same as my Mom's rules for me were and that was, no dating until my kids are 16.

Honestly i think kids will date whether or not theirs an age rule in place. Ideally I don't want my kids (2 girls and a boy) having an other until they're 16. And when they are, there will be rules about going out as well as curfew, whether or not homework and chores are done, and their other isn't allowed to spend the night unless one of them has a job AND decent grades (C+ and higher) (which isn't my business but I'd appreciate knowing to know my kids grades won't be pulled down with theirs). I was a teen mom. I graduated with straight As. My ex was abusive and tried to baby trap me. I want them to have the rules I wish my parents had set for me, because they were sort of strict, but left me to my own devices. Heaven forbid, but if my kids ever end up in a hazardous relationship I want to be able to help them out. If they need the excuse of homework, I'll find them something to do. I want them to succeed and be happy teens. Maybe it's unrealistic, but like I said... ideally this is what I want.
