Help for a noob

So, admittedly I'm new to all this. My sexuality is something I've been trying to sort out for a while and in the past couple years I began identifying as bisexual. I havent told any of my family and I don't think I will, I'm already like the black sheep and I know they probably won't understand, but whatever. Practically all my friends are straight and I'm trying to meet more lesbian and bisexual women in my city but I honestly have no idea where to start. There's a lesbian bar here (in Houston) that I'd like to go to but I don't have anyone to take with me, should I go alone? What are some ideas for getting more involved in this community?
