Is this okay to ask of my husband? (Rant also)

My husband burps out loud all The time unless we are around family or friends. Lately it has been really annoying me cause I can't stand it! It's discusting to me! Today I asked him if he could try to stop burping out loud all the time because it really makes me annoyed and I don't want him doing it around our kids when we have them as they will think it's okay. I even told him how he asked me to stop swearing so I did so is it bad that I asked him to stop doing that?
