Baby shower host not caring what I want🙄😒
So my mother and my best friend are throwing my baby shower. My mom is majorly the one paying for the shower and my best friend to help my mom choose the things I'd like.
Well my mom doesn't seem to care what I like or want or the inputs my best friend has. She states, "Its my money and I'm the grandmother so I'll throw the shower how I want" which I found super disrespectful.
Maybe I have some frustration towards my mom about my daughter because she seems to act like she is her baby and what I'm doing wrong during my pregnancy and blah blah. So when it comes to my baby shower I just want it to about my daughter and a cool time.
I told my mom I just want to have pretty much a party (Not all the games and boring stuff) a photobooth, drinks and food, and music. Like just a chill time celebrating the blessing that is my daughter Aliza. Well needless to say she doesn't really want to do any of that.
Do you think I should just forget what I want to appease my mother or keep trying to get her to see it my way or at least compromise? Am I overreacting?
