Period pains

I suffer with really really bad period pains , this month I was late and normally after I take a pain killer the pain is gone but this month its excruciating to the point where I can't stand up and I don't know why the pain killers aren't working when they normally always do , I'm also super emotional for no reason , any advice please? Normally I have a high pain tolerance and I can take most pains , it's a pain all over my lower belly not on one side
