Should I get and IUD or stay on the pill with my condition?

Question

So I have horrible periods, like I will faint, get migraines, stomach issues, and/or have extreme bouts of anxiety and depression. I've gone to several different OBGYNs and ran tests and all they've found is that I simply just have bad periods. So far I'm just on BC pills to help control my hormones but I feel like it's not enough and I've been wondering about an IUD. Any suggestions and or information that you can relay onto me? My hormonal IUD gave me my life back. I would have to stay home 1-3 days a month, and even past that, I was crying every day from my period pain. I got my IUD a few months after I turned 18 (thank the gods I found a doctor who would give me one, a lot wouldn't because I've never had a kid). I've had no issue with it, and it's been in for two years!

I was the same way. IUDs usually help with periods. With some IUDs you end up not having periods at all while it's in, although this does depend on the woman and the type of IUD. I love my IUD tho!

I honestly would not take the pill. I had thought about it for a while and did some reading about it to try to find a brand to fit me but all I read about it was how much the pill can mess with you. And believe me I already have so many things wrong I didn't not need another

I had the mirena IUD inserted last week, and have never had a child. The insertion was quite painful but only really lasted for about 10 seconds. The cramps that day were worse to me, but after 2 days I felt awesome again and I already love not having to take the pill every day!

I am the same way and I just got an iud a couple months ago and so far it has made everything worse, although my doctor told me it could take 3-6 months for it to settle down

If you've never gone through pregnancy, your uterus may be too small to hold the IUD. mine was and I had VERY PAINFUL bouts of the IUD becoming misplaced. It was half through the cervix and half inside of my uterus 😩 I decided on the nexplanon and have absolutely loved it! I recently got it taken out because we are TTC but next time I want BC it will definitely be that or the mirena (Hormonal IUD).
