I will say that I had* issues. I was sexually assaulted at an age to where I definitely knew it was wrong but never could stop them. It definitely had an effect on me that I never really realized or acknowledged. When I met my husband, I learned to trust him and then was comfortable to become intimate.... it just takes time and the right person.

I was molested at a young age and can say that I definitely had problems when my SO touched me in the beginning of our relationship. After I told him what happened he completely understood and made me comfortable enough to gain trust in him and be able to become intimate with him. All you need is the right person.

I haved had difficulty being intimate with my boyfriend, as he was the first (and only) after I was raped. Talking about it to him made it way easier for him to understand, give me time, and make I was always ok during intimacy. Sure, it was not always easy and talking about it made it worst at first, but then it's all gone now and I can be intimate without thinking about what happened anymore. Of course, there are times I do, but that is normal. Talking about it with someone you trust is key to feeling so much better and less guilty or disgusting... because it makes you realise it's not your fault, and your partner is going to take care of you 💜 Good luck to you, I know it's hard. Not as soon as the day after, but weeks later when you start to realise you can't just run away from what happened or hide it in the back of your mind..

Absolutely. When I was about 6 I was molested by my oldest step brother. It has made even friendships with males difficult, I get so anxious around grown men. However, my boyfriend knows about it and has been one of the new men I can be completely comfortable around! It's hard to even meet his friends, and I'm not sure he can ever really understand WHY I am how I am, and it has taken a toll on the relationship but it's definitely something that can be worked at and overcome! 💕
