Would you get pregnant again to get a cord blood match?

If, God forbid, your child is sick and could potentially be cured with a stem cell donation, would you be willing to have another child in the hopes you can use their cord blood? (Assume no matches were found in your family/friends or public banks.)

yes and no, I think thia is maybe a touchy question for some. I mean, I am willing to do what it takes for my child but I don't think I would want to bring a child into the world just because another child is sick. I think if I had several other reasons and were able to take care of another child as well as the ill one, I definitely would. I would have the joy of a new baby as well as helping my other child. but if I werent financially stable, or if the stem cells weren't 100% guaranteed to work or if I werent ready for another baby. I wouldn't. its sad to see a child be sick but there are too many factors that go along with that question to explain fully what I mean.

I don't know, I really can't answer because I don't know if the answer would change if I was in that situation. I have been ttc #3 for 3 years, I'd really like it to happen already but considering how long it's taken I don't think a child would survive long enough in that situation, but not sure I wouldn't try. I could not do it if it would strain our family and the child would never be told it was conceived for a purpose other than wanting more kids.
