Birth stories:.....How was your labor when you gave birth?

Question

Mine lasted 12 hours with my first had to beg for an Epidural. Same with my second. I would love to have another child but those contractions are a true pain! What are your thoughts?

I didn't experience actual labor. I was induced, and 6 hours in we decided on a c-section because of my blood pressure and my daughter's heart rate. I only felt ONE contraction the entire time, even though the monitor showed i was having a lot and they were 2 minutes apart.

For it being my first baby it was Fast! Was in labor for about 2 and a half hours. Pushed for 30 minutes and boom! Baby was here :) the pain was tolerable for the first 2 and a half hours. Once I went into the birthing process when they broke my water it was excruciating. When I arrived at the hospital I was already at  8 cams so u couldn't receive any type of epidural and so I had to go with a natural birth. I would totally do it again! I gotta say I feel proud of myself 💪😏

My doctor always tells me "You do not get a metal for refusing the epidural, maybe you should, but you do not."

Look it all depends on your pain tolerance. I've have 5 births and all were different. My first was only 3 hours and 15 mins long and I had an epidural when I hit 6 cm and I was also on pitosin to help with my contractions. My second child was born by c-section since she stood straight up. I had no labour and an epidural. For my 3rd, she came on her due date and I was in labour for 5 1/2 hours and again I waited till I was 6 to 7 cm to have an epidural. For my  4th child I was in labour for 7 1/2 hours and had an epidural again. Now for my 5th and final child (16 yrs later from my 4th child) I was in labour for about 10 hours and was induced with pitosin and I waited till I was 7 to 8 cm before getting the epidural. I wanted to go natural this time but the pain was getting to me as I had back labour plus I wanted my body to relax since I was told I was having a smal baby around 4 lbs and she surprised everyone at being normal weight.  I had all girls and their weights were 6 lbs 8 ozs, 7 lbs 9ozs, 7lbs 8ozs, 7lbs 5 1/2 ozs and my last was 7 lbs 2 ozs. Just do what you feel you can handle. In the end all that matters is having a healthy baby. So good luck and I wish you all the best! 😊

My water broke and I had slow contractions for 24 hours then went to the hospital (was trying home birth) that's when they got really bad then the pitocin made it excruciating and had to get an epidural. 39 hours of labor :(

My water broke around 7 on 9/11/14. I jumped in the shower and we went to the hospital. I was in labor for 19 and a half hours. I pushed for four hours and had to have an emergency c section. But it was all worth it! My baby boy was born at 2:24 a.m. on 9/12/14, one day before my due date! Wouldn't trade him for the world!

I went into labor with my first but he wouldn't move past 4 cm so they gave me pitosin to get him moving.  That was awful even with an epidural and labor was 26 hrs. My twins were induced at 40 weeks and they were easier with less pain.  I had a nicer doctor then too and she made it really almost enjoyable. And the double shot of drugs helped lol.  My last and biggest baby was late and really fast so by the time I got to the hospital I was already 9cm and that was excruciating. I was just handful they gave me the epidural but she was out before it kicked in so I felt everything and even after twins it still felt like she was my first cuz I felt everything

I was induced 3 times, but never went into active labor. A week after my failed inductions, and switching doctors and hospitals (for multiple reasons), I wound up having a cesarean delivery, and got to meet my sweet little baby (who come 11 days after my due date!)
My baby will be 5 in 3 days!

My first my labor started intense out of nowhere. It was back labor. I was 5-6 cm an hour after my labor started, I asked for an epidural the moment I got to the hospital. It was about 11 before I was complete but then had a c section.

My second was a vbac. I had the same back labor but was prepared for it and handled it much better. I made it through 50+ hours of labor and to 10 cm before giving in and getting an epidural. He was born 6 hours later.

I'm planning to attempt a natural birth again when we have our 3rd.
