Sudden Vertigo for Hours
I fully intend on calling my doctor Monday morning, but I'd like to see if any of you have gone through something similar.
This morning I woke up feeling a little dizzy. I walked to the bathroom and the room started spinning a LOT. I came back to bed and told my so what was going on. Laid back down and the room started spinning faster and I got nauseous. This would last for several minutes then ease up a bit, and come back a few minutes later. I tried eating to see if it was a blood sugar issue. I tried drinking water to see if I was just dehydrated. I even tried to just sleep it off.
This lasted all day. I feel fine now, but nothing like this has ever happened and I'm freaking out a bit. ...also, I am NOT pregnant, which according to Google is one potential cause of vertigo.
Has anyone ever had a similar experience? What was the cause and what did you do about it?
UPDATE: Doc said it looks like Peripheral Vertigo, most likely BPPV. Said there is nothing serious to worry about. It's a scary thing, but no long-term damage to worry about since it's not Central Vertigo which is caused by issues affecting the brain. For now, we're just going to leave it alone. If it happens again, I'll go to my ENT for more testing and to discuss a plan for treatment.
Thank you ladies for your support!! It turned out to be nothing, but it was scary and hearing your stories helped keep me from going down the rabbit whole of Google. Lol
