Cry it out??

Question

my 11 month old will not sleep unless I'm right beside her and its honestly driving me insane.  she actually won't even sit in her crib or in her play pen because she has to be right beside me at all times. i can't even do anything because she is so clingy and its making me depressed not being able to sleep or eat or even shower. so I've been wondering about the cry it out method? Or any other advice. i can't STAND hearing her cry though :( but sometimes when she won't sleep i get so angry and i feel like screaming, i do have PPD. please NO RUDE COMMENTS. i  just want tips , advice , experience , anything!! (( picture for attention and shes cute))

I used the "cry it out method" and it worked perfectly. Yes it was extremely hard at times but I'm SO thankful for it and it only took about 2-3 days then naps and bedtime were an ease

personally not a believer in the cry it out method, even though i have used it in the past. babies cry for a reason.

If you have PPD and you're feeling depressed.. laying her safely into her crib and walking away to take a breather is the best route in my opinion . Besides if she's crying she's breathing so she will be ok 👌🏽 lol I'm not sure how old your infant is but if she's over 3 months allowing her to self soothe at times is good for her.

Our doctor suggested it at 5.5 months.  We went on vacay and then he caught croup so at around 6.5 months we did it. Though since 6 weeks we pretty much kept to the same exact schedule and he's been sleeping in his own room since 8 weeks. Anywho, our doctor told us to stick to the same exact routine every night so we play till 7:30 then get a bottle, go upstairs in dim lights change into footie pajamas, I turn the lights off ( I mean pitch black not a nightlight) and feed him a bottle in the chair.  He usually fell asleep while eating. Put him in his crib and in the middle of the night he would cry and our doctor told us not to go in there and let him cry. After 15-20 mins if he was still crying go in rub his back and walk back out. It was hard the first 2-3 days but honestly by day 4-5 he was sleeping till 7:30 am. He's now a year and we follow the exact routine. He knows when the footie Jammie's go on it's bedtime. I now can put him into his crib awake and he'll toss and turn 5 mins or less and sleep 12 hours straight. Scheduling has been a blessing and honestly crying it out too. Half of our friends are still waking up in the middle of the eight with their 1 year olds and we are getting 8-10 hours of sleep every night.

Google Ferber Method. It's the more official name for cry it out, and it's not nearly as harsh a people claim if you actually follow the guidelines.

The best advice I was ever given and could ever pass on, "When you can't take it anymore, for whatever reason, put baby in a safe place and walk away." Whatever you decide to do longer-term, don't forget that! It saves lives.

when we were finally able to being out daughter home from the hospital (she spent almost 2 months in the NICU) AHE WOULD NOT sleep by herself and was always wanting to be by us. for getting her to sleep by herself we ended up having to make a little bed with blankets in a smaller clothes basket that we could keep right next to our bed, and we would lay with her til she went to sleep. slowly we would move her away from our bed until she was sleeping in the basket away from us. and then we switched her into a crib afterwards.

It's really up to you. I haven't used CIO because it just teaches the baby that no one is going to respond to their cries so it isn't worth their energy ☹️ I think that's really sad. It works well for most babies but I'm personally not okay with why it works. My 13mo is super clingy too and a horrible sleeper. I've been reading The No Cry Sleep Solution book and things have been getting better. Hang in there mama and do whatever feels right for you.

Aww you poor thing! CIO is def not as detrimental as some think! If you do it correctly you keep checking on the baby etc. it's not just abandoning the baby for hours :) I hated every minute of it, but it helped tremendously and when I was able to watch my baby put herself to sleep on the monitor, I knew I have helped to give my baby some skills to self soothe! She is still the happiest baby ever also! Nothing will break a momma and baby girls bond :)

Also if you have anyone close that you trust enough .. have them be there and while she is crying go take a shower or leave the house (just outside) my mom helped me and I was very grateful because I couldn't stand hearing the cries but it saved my sanity......
