Period/fertility question

I have a question for anyone with a little knowledge on my situation. My hubby and I have been ttc for almost two years now and we've had zero luck. But I feel like every time we do ttc, this is what happens during the time my period is about to arrive.....I have mild cramping on right pelvic side the week before my period and then I spot light brown stuff for 3 or 4 days (and every time I of course get my hopes up thinking maybe this time it's implantation bleeding but it's not). My regular period then starts and lasts for a week. What could this mean? Do I have a bad ovary? I'm making a Dr. appointment but I was wondering if any has had a similar experience?
