PCOS/metformin?

Hi there! I was just diagnosed with PCOS and the doctor prescribed me Metformin? not sure if that is spelled right.

Did this work for anyone else?

I have a huge worry about not taking it on time and getting stomach pains/diarrhea. I don't eat on a schedule, honestly most days no food even sounds good so I end up just snacking on whatever doesn't make me feel sick to my stomach but it isn't at a specific time, just whenever I can eat lol I'm worried that this is going to be a problem?
