Is a makeup artist a realistic career? Why or why not?

I'm 16, and I absolutely love makeup. I dabble in special effects, but I mainly just love the basic stuff! I want to know if this is something I should really try and pursue or if I would be wasting time and money. Or even if I should just get another job and do this on the side. Thanks!

Do it girl! But also realise a lot of other people want the same career, so practice as much as you can so you stand out from the others!! You can do it

YES! You can make GREAT money doing event makeup & styling... cosmetology is a great trade to have. School is quick, go right outta highschool if ya can. if you decide in 10 years you're done doing it, you can support yourself thru college again.

To build on this! If you haven't by time your graduate , go to school to be a  esthetician . That way you have a upper hand as a professional, & have real knowledge about skincare which is the most important aspect of makeup. Youtube it . 😃👍❤. Also a MUA. Building clientele can be slow but if your an Esthetican you can work in a spa, or your own business. Do facials, & etc.! But my point is you'll always have income. Follow your dream. And social media helps😃✨✨Goodluck mama
