3rd cousin

What do you people think of 3rd cousins being together and having kids. I've been with my 3rd cousin for 2 and a half years, and we have 2 kids together. But when we met we didn't know eachother. Or that we where cousins. Shit already happened before we found out. So that didn't even put us off. I don't think there is any actual DNA shared between us. I was a little grossed at first considering how close him and my mum acc where as cousins growing up together etc. But me and him personally didnt know eachother or anything about eachother.
