Losing virginity

I'm 16 & long story short, I tried losing my virginity w/ boyfriend. When he got hard he put it in when we were both ready, and I know that I'm tight, and even though he has a small dick (lol) it hurt a lot ? To the point where I was cussing and crying .. he only got the tip in and I could barely handle that. I'm pretty small, short and thin, small build so I'm just small in general and tight. Is this normal ? What do I do so that it doesn't hurt so bad ? Do I power through or lube up or something ? He doesn't finger me bc I don't get pleasure from that so I'm really confused with my body rn.

- also, Ive had some traumatic experiences in this situation in the past so I do fear it could be involuntary tension - vaginismus maybe ? But I do not know how to legitimately diagnose this or how to "treat" this.

If anyone has any similar past / current experiences please share anything helps, or any advice/ ideas anything.
