Being a surrogate? Sex or science?

Hello all!

I'm wondering if anyone here has ever been a surrogate and how they dealt with it?

My best friend, soul sister, love! She's wonderful in many ways. She's the first person to show me what a true friendship is and what it entails.

When she was younger she had cancer and had to have a full hysterectomy. She's not able to conceive but she and her husband want children. I personally don't want children and never have wanted to be a parent. However, I have offered to have a baby for them.

I'm wondering how hard it might be emotionally. Is it easier if I see the kid frequently or infrequently? Will I be more invested in how they're raising the kid because of it having my DNA? Is it good for us/me to see a therapist before/during/after?

Obviously we haven't started any type of process but I know they're highly interested. I'd just like to hear from women who've gone through this and see how it was for you.

*also the sex or science: my husband jokingly told us that her husband and I should do it "the old fashioned way" to save money. 😂 I personally think it would be VERY AWKWARD but they all think it's a loooovely idea. Lol wtf? 😂
