nipple piercings & breast feeding

so I'm a first time mom & Im coming up on 32 weeks and I have yet to take my piercings out. I got them pierced about a year and a half ago and at my very first prenatal appointment I asked the nurse whether I needed to take them out or what ... she said I could leave them in until I intend to breastfeed unless they become uncomfortable, so I've left them in this whole time. I was wondering if any one had any advice to when I should take them out; is it best to wait until birth or should I take them out soon? also will it cause any problems with breast feeding? & will I be able to put the piercings back in after breast feeding without getting them re pierced?
