child keeps gasping for air??

I have a 1 year old son who keeps gasping for air, he doesn’t seem to be choking or changing colors, but every few minutes he will do 3-4 really loud and heavy gasps... I can’t tell if he’s just playing or really having a problem..I’ve never really noticed it before unless I just don’t pay well enough attention.., but he seems fine. Should I still consult his doctor? Or do kids do this?
