Dr checking = labor?

Today another mom told me that with both of her kids she went into labor 24 hours after her doctor had checked her for dilation. Have any other moms had this happen? Or do you think it's just a coincidence?

My doctor have been checking me for dilation since I was 20 weeks and I don't think that triggers labor. I had a preterm labor with my first so she wants to make sure I'm close. They check every 2 weeks now until I go into labor

A lot of drs don't check unless they believe you're very close.

Coincidence. I had a day where I had contractions every 10 minutes for literally the entire day. 4 days later doctor checked me, had some spotting and contractions and still no baby drat lol
