Do you and your SO equally buy eachother gifts?

I've been with my bf for 2.5 years now and I feel like I'm the only one investing money into our relationship. I'm always buying him things and offering to take ux out to places and stuff but he seems to not ever spend any money on me. On holidays and his birthday I on average spend $150 every holiday. And I'm not sure if  just too generous or he is just selfish with his money.

I'm the opposite. I don't have a job so I don't have money to do very much for Christmas etc. My SO buys me things a lot (especially jewlwery) and I buy dinner sometimes when we go out. He likes buying me things, and it doesn't bother him but I chip in whenever I can. I hate not being able to buy him much :(

I've been with my boyfriend for 2 and a half years too and we had this issue. I talked to him about it and he told me he didn't feel that he should have to buy me things to prove his love to me. Instead, we spend quality time together talking or going on walks, or just watching Netflix together. After thinking that over, I agree. It's nice to do it every now and then cause it is nice to get something from your SO. but you don't have to spend all your money on things either. Maybe you should speak with him!!
