Prenatals causing me to throw up?

Question

So I believe I'm around 5 weeks pregnant ( I have a dating Ultrasound tomorrow morning) but so far my symptoms have been extremely sore breasts, mild cramping, and random feelings of nausea. 
Last night I went out to dinner with my husband and had trouble eating since everything smelled weird and I felt very nauseous. Right afterwards I went and bought prenatal vitamins (we just found out a few days ago, so I hadn't bought any yet) and I took them right after dinner. 
As soon as I got home I laid down and felt extremely sick. After about 15 minutes I throw up all of my dinner but I felt better. Do you think this was the prenatals or was it possibly just the nausea symptom getting worse?

It could be a mixture of both morning sickness and the prenatals. My doctor recommended that I take them right before bed and that helped.

I have to take my prenatals in a full stomach but it really could be a coincidence that youre throwing up after you take them. I threw up probably over 100 times a day in my first trimester. I lost 45 pounds from morning sickness,  some people have it really bad. Good luck mama

I stopped taking mine and only take folic acid

Switch to gummy Prenatals. The same thing happened to me and that fixed it 😊

I had the same problem, I was already sick my whole first trimester but the prenatals made it 1000x worse no matter what time I took them I was still sick the whole day and couldn't keep any food down . I told my doctor and she told me i didn't have to take them , that I could take two childrens vitamins (like Flinstones ) a day and that would be fine . I'm not saying you should do the same, you should tell your doctor and she/he can give you another alternative.

It could be either... it is a struggle to keep food and prenatals down, especially during the first trimester. 
My doctor put me on prenatals when I was in college because I was iron deficient, and I've been on them ever since. It took me a while to find a brand that didn't make me ill, and even now, i still sometimes struggle. Try different brands, taking them with large meals, or right before bed. I personally take them with breakfast everyday, but I eat huge breakfasts, so I know that's not an option for everyone. There are also gummy prenatals, that seem to work well for some women. 
If it turns out it's morning sickness that's your issue (or more like all day sickness; mine was worst in the evenings) then you are going to just have to find foods that work for you. Many women like bland carbs and fruit during the first trimester. Ginger also sometimes helps, along with sea bands, and b6. I ended up getting a prescription for diclegis, which was a godsend, but if your insurance doesn't cover it, it may not be an option. My copay is 45/bottle but it's like 700 if your insurance won't cover it. Definitely worth looking into though. Good luck & congrats!

I couldn't keep my prenatal vitamins down during my morning sickness phase and my doctor had me take two children's gummies instead til my sickness stage passed over
