bilirubin

So I'm a FTM and my baby is 6 days old now. When I was in labor I guess he ended up getting a big bruise in his head from maybe hitting my pelvis. the 1st day they did a blood test and they told me his bilirubin was high to an 8 for him to not be 24hrs yet. We fed formula to see if it doesn't get high and it did. It went up to a 12. He stayed under the UV lights for a couple hours than we were discharged because it went down to 10. Told me to make a urgent appmnt on Sunday to make sure it hasn't gone up. Results came back to a 15. Had to see his pediatrician yesterday and she told me to get another test done and I did an 1hr later they said it was high up to a 20. Since yesterday evening his been under the lights. They did another test at 4am today and they said it went down to 15. He will be staying in a bit longer today to see if the number goes lower. My question to the mommies who have gone through this have you seen any positive results? I'm so scared seeing him under those lights makes me cry it hurts to know that my baby has to keep getting poked.
