How many bottles does your baby have a day?

My son will be 1 on 24th September. He's currently taking 6oz formula when he wakes up in the morning and 9oz of formula before bed. I add cows milk to his cereal. I have noticed some babies have totally given up their bottles already and a lot of parents are keen to get their babies off bottles by 12 months. I feel my son still enjoys his bottle and isn't ready to give up. I tried offering milk in a sippy cup but he doesn't drink much out of sippy cup. I also tried giving breakfast in morning before bottle but he wants his bottle when he wakes up. How can I warn him off the bottle?

I was told once my son hits 12 months, no more bottle or formula. Right now he's 11 months and gets three 8 oz bottles a day. Plus twice a day some kind of baby food or cereal.

Personally I'd wait until he's ready. My son quit his 4th bottle on his own, just refused it a few days in a row so I stopped offering. He's starting to take less and less of his lunch bottle so I'll try not offering it soon and see what he does. If he's not ready I'll add it back and try again a few days later. Then I'll try taking away his morning and evening bottles. I kinda expect he'll be fine with it all, but if he's not then whatever, we'll keep doing bottles. I don't see any reason to rush all these changes we're expected to make the day they turn 1.

My son's 11 months now, usually does 8oz in the morning along with food, another with lunch, and dinner. Around 2-3 after his nap I give him a bottle as a snack but am working on just doing a snack during that time with no bottle.

My daughter was the same way! She would have a 8 oz bottle first thing in the morning. I tried using her munchkin sippy cup, she would throw a temper tantrum and refused to drink from it  for her morning bottle. She would drink formula/water out of the sippy cup during the day no problem. I thought if I tried to find a sippy cup similar spout like her bottles how'd she take to it, she has the mam bottles so I found the avent sippy cups. They have a silicone nipple, and she switched so easy. I gave it to her one morning and she took it and I haven't given her a bottle since. It's been a week!
