How many weeks is considered premature?

How many weeks is considered premature? Is it anything before 35 weeks? I'm hearing different things, so I'm not sure.

37-42 weeks used to be considered full term... now 37-38 weeks is considered early term and 39-41 weeks is full term...  so anything before 37 weeks is premature I believe.

Don't know what it's like in America. But here in the U.K. It's as simple as anything between 24-37 weeks is viable/premature, from 37-40 weeks is considered as term and anything over 40 weeks is considered overdue.

My doctor consider premature to before 37 weeks both my boys were born at 37 weeks and perfectly health 1 weighed 7 lbs and the other 9 lbs

Anything before 38 weeks but you have different levels of premature. Also the levels are different for race and gender.  Your doctor can explain more about those levels if your concerned.
