After 13 months of trying, I was diagnosed with both tubes blocked and told my only option is IVF after an HSG on 7/19/17. Ironically, I ovulated early last month, and only knew because a nagging feeling told me to use my opk. I checked on 7/23 at noon and it was positive for LH surge. Deciding we had nothing to lose after reading stories of women with blocked tubes who became pregnant after an HSG, we went right to BD. Also BD that night 7/23 around midnight. On 7/24 I had no LH surge and we BD around 10pm that night. I took a pregnancy (well 3 different ones) test yesterday evening around 7pm and all were instantly positive! I only tested because my period was 4 days late and I did not have any of my typical PMS symptoms. I am 4 weeks 2 days pregnant and just completed blood work to ensure pregnancy is viable and will have an u/s at 6-7 weeks to validate it has implanted in the right place. I called my Dr and asked for these because of the increased chance of an ectopic pregnancy with blocked tubes. I do believe that the HSG cleared my blockage and made this possible! My HSG was the most painful experience of my life, I almost fainted during the procedure and had to be kept in the hospital for 4 hours after for monitoring, but it was worth it! Wanted the share my story.
