Devastating news ☹️

I got some devastating news yesterday. I went in for the echo of her heart and they determined she has an atrioventricular canal defect. She will need surgery to fix it when her body can handle a surgery like that. She did gain a pound in just a matter of a week or two so she is now 2 pounds and some ounces but the doctor said while in the womb she will continue to be a small baby. Because of this kind of heart defect and the fact that she is such a small baby the doctor said that the likely hood of her having DS is rly high. I did an amniocentesis yesterday where they stick the needle in your belly and collect amniotic fluid to test for chromosomal issues. I wont get any kind of results until Monday and the wait is killing me. They said there's no cause as to why DS happens it just happens to 1 out of 900 ppl. I never thought I'd be in this situation but I guess no ever does. All we can do is hope and pray that we get good results on Monday. If you're religious please pray for my daughter as well.
